Principal Launches Equity Income Fund

Principal Global Investors has launched the Edge Equity Income Fund, to be managed by its affiliate Edge Asset Management.

The Dublin-registered, UCITS compliant fund aims, the firm says, to provide income with long-term growth in both income and capital by investing primarily in US companies with market capitalisation typically above $7 billion with the “capacity and commitment to pay and grow dividends over time and in all economic environments.”

Principal Global Investors is a member of the Iowa-headquartered Principal Financial Group. PGI manages around $260 billion in assets primarily for retirement plans and other institutional clients.

Edge, headquartered in Seattle, Washington, managed over $19 billion in assets at end June 2012.
